Joe Seggie, partner of Nina Rothwell-Holand, a nurse in the children's emergency department at Stepping Hill Hospital, has taken on a thrilling skydiving challenge to support the Stockport NHS Charity neonatal incubator appeal.
A Personal Cause
The couple decided to back the appeal as a way of expressing their gratitude to the Stepping Hill Hospital neonatal team. The team provided exceptional care, support, and memory-making moments during the first four and a half weeks of their daughter Lilah's life. Lilah was born with a growth restriction and weighed just 2lbs 13oz at birth. She spent 4.5 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) between St Mary's Hospital and Stepping Hill Hospital.
Exceptional Care
Nina said: "The care at Stepping Hill NICU was exceptional; we felt like we were a part of our own little NICU family. We will never be able to repay the maternity department and NICU at Stepping Hill or the MAVIS clinic at St Mary's Hospital for saving our baby, but we would like to try!"
The Skydive
Joe successfully completed a 15,000 ft sky dive to help support the cause. So far, they have raised over £1,000 and are still very happy to receive further donations.
