Abdulraziq Mohammed, 38, snatched a five-year-old girl off the street in Winson Green and sexually assaulted her in his HMO. After drinking alcohol and smoking mamba, he took advantage of a brief moment when the girl's mother lost sight of her. He was found guilty of false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault, and assault, receiving an 11-year jail term with an extended four-year licence.
Rhyce Longstaff, 31, raped a 14-year-old girl who had passed out from drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis. He met a group of schoolgirls in the city centre and convinced them to go to an address in Aston, where he attacked the unconscious victim. Found guilty of three charges of rape, he was sentenced to 16 years with an extended six-year licence.
Javonnie Tavener, 23, mowed down and killed four-year-old Mayar Yahia while speeding, intoxicated, and using his phone on Upper Highgate Street. He lost control of his car, ploughed into a group walking home from an Eid celebration, and initially fled the scene. Rhemeese Lawrence-Hayden, 27, killed his best friend David Brennan in a high-speed crash in Bournville while doing 102mph in a stolen car. He fled the scene but later apologised to the victim's mother with flowers. Pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, he was jailed for 14 years, consecutive to an existing eight-year term for car theft.
Azam Adal, 30, caused a massive smash near Birmingham City's football stadium by tripling the 30mph limit on Cattell Road, leaving a woman disabled.
