A 24-year-old man from Birmingham has been formally charged with multiple drug offences following a targeted police operation in the Handsworth area this week.
Police Execute Warrant on Rookery Road
Officers from West Midlands Police executed a warrant at a residential property on Rookery Road in Handsworth on Tuesday, January 28th. The operation led to the immediate arrest of Munith Choudhury, aged 24, who was present at the address.
Significant Haul of Evidence Seized
During the search of the property, police confiscated a substantial quantity of what is believed to be heroin and crack cocaine. In addition to the suspected drugs, investigators seized several mobile phones, which are thought to be connected to drug-dealing activities.
Among the more unusual items recovered was a custom-made silver grillz – a set of removable decorative tooth covers. Authorities have classified this item as suspected criminal property, indicating it may have been acquired through illicit means.
Formal Charges Brought
Following his arrest and subsequent questioning, Choudhury was charged on Wednesday, January 29th. The specific charges include:
- Being concerned in the supply of heroin
- Being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine
- Possession of criminal property
The charges reflect the serious nature of the alleged offences and the evidence gathered during the police operation.
Ongoing County Lines Investigation
West Midlands Police have confirmed that enquiries are continuing as part of their broader efforts to combat drug supply networks. The force's dedicated County Lines Taskforce is actively working to disrupt the distribution of illegal substances across the region.
This case represents another step in the ongoing battle against organised drug crime in the West Midlands, with police targeting both the supply chains and those allegedly involved in their operation.
