A man has been taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after the e-scooter he was riding collided with a car in Wolverhampton.

Details of the incident

Emergency services were called to the junction of Tettenhall Road and Haden Hill just before 1pm on Wednesday, July 1. Two ambulances and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic attended the scene.

The rider, a man, was treated at the scene before being conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further care. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We attended the scene of an RTC involving a car and an e-scooter at the junction of Tettenhall Road and Haden Hill in Wolverhampton following notification at 12.52pm."

Impact on transport

Buses were diverted away from the area following the crash. National Express West Midlands posted on X at 1.30pm: "Wednesday 1st July 2026 Tettenhall Road #Tettenhall 1 Is diverting in both directions via Compton Road and Paget Road due to a collision." By 2.03pm, they confirmed routes had returned to normal.

West Midlands Police has been approached for comment. No further details about the man's condition have been released.
