Four Men Face Court After Police Raids Uncover Drugs and Weapons in Walsall

Four men were scheduled to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court following a series of police raids in Walsall that resulted in the seizure of dangerous weapons and illegal drugs. The warrants were executed by West Midlands Police's County Lines Task Force on Thursday morning, February 26, as part of an ongoing crackdown on serious and organised crime.

Weapons and Drugs Seized in Coordinated Operation

During the five warrants carried out across the town, officers discovered a significant cache of weapons. This included ten knives, knuckle dusters, air weapons, a crossbow, and an axe. In addition to the weapons, police found thousands of pounds in cash and various quantities of illegal drugs, highlighting the scale of the operation.

The raids are part of Operation Target, a police initiative aimed at tackling a range of serious and organised crime offences. A force spokesperson explained that officers use local intelligence, seize goods, carry out warrants, and target offenders as part of this ongoing effort to disrupt criminal activities in the community.

Charges and Court Appearances

The four men facing charges are:

  • Mitchell Bowden, 30, of Cartbridge Walk, Walsall: Charged with offences including being concerned in the supply of cocaine, crack cocaine, and cannabis, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and cocaine, and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
  • Arron Bowden, 38, of Camden Close, Walsall: Charged with supplying cocaine, crack cocaine, and cannabis, possession with intent to supply cocaine, crack cocaine, and cannabis, and possessing a bladed article.
  • Nathan Tomplins, 21, of Cook Road, Bloxwich: Charged with possession with intent to supply both crack cocaine and cocaine.
  • David Clinton-Smith, 24, of Booth Close, Bloxwich: Charged with concern in the supply of cocaine and crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine and crack cocaine.

All four were due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 27, to face these charges.
