Family's Heartbreaking Tribute to 'Loving Grandmother'
The family of Carol Knowles have paid an emotional tribute to the 62-year-old grandmother who tragically lost her life after being struck by a car in Oldbury.
Described as the 'heart of the family', Carol was seriously injured in the collision on Wolverhampton Road on October 29 and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Family Statement: 'Our Lives Changed Forever'
In a moving statement released through West Midlands Police, Carol's devastated family expressed their profound grief. 'Our lives have been changed forever,' they said. 'Carol was the brightest part of our world.'
The family remembered her as a woman known for her warm smile and positive spirit, someone who brought happiness wherever she went.
They described her as a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and dedicated court usher, highlighting her kindness, dignity and grace that touched everyone who knew her.
Police Investigation Continues
West Midlands Police confirmed that a 31-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail while inquiries continue.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses and particularly anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
The police spokesperson stated: 'We're still keen to hear from anyone who may have information.' They asked people to quote log 531 of 29/10/25 when contacting them.
