Staffordshire Police have launched a public appeal for information following a terrifying knifepoint robbery at a Morrisons Daily convenience store in Tamworth.
Details of the Early Morning Raid
The incident took place at the shop on Ellerbeck, Stonydelph, at approximately 7.15am on Thursday, December 18. According to police reports, a masked man entered the premises brandishing a knife.
The assailant, who was wearing all black clothing and a face covering, is described as being around 6ft tall. He proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash from both the shop's till and its safe before fleeing the scene.
Ongoing Police Investigation
Officers from the force's criminal investigation department have been conducting a thorough inquiry since the robbery. Their work has included:
- Reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
- Speaking to local residents and potential witnesses.
- Carrying out forensic examinations at the shop.
