Police Launch Manhunt Following Serious Early Morning Assault in Rubery
West Mercia Police have launched a significant manhunt after a woman was seriously assaulted in an alleyway in Rubery during the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 2:10 am on April 11 in an alleyway located on Graham Crescent, which provides access to several shops on New Road.
Details of the Violent Attack
The victim, a woman in her 40s, was approached from behind by an unknown male assailant who struck her on the head. She sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the attack. Police have confirmed that, while the injuries are severe, they are not believed to be life-threatening. The woman received medical attention following the assault.
Description of the Suspect and Police Appeal
Investigators report that the suspect was wearing dark clothing and what is suspected to be a face covering at the time of the incident. Officers have been conducting thorough CCTV checks in the area and have identified that several individuals were present in the vicinity around the time of the assault.
Detective Constable Annabelle Davis is leading the investigation and has issued a direct appeal to the public. "We are keen to speak to anyone who might be able to help with our enquiries," stated DC Davis. "This includes anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously or in an unusual manner in the area of Graham Crescent late Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday morning."

Police believe that the people captured on CCTV may have witnessed the suspect either before or after the attack. Authorities are urging these individuals, or anyone else with relevant information, to make contact immediately.
