Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a woman's body at a property in the Black Country.
Officers Discover Woman Unresponsive
West Midlands Police were called to an address on Barncroft Road in Oldbury in the early hours of Sunday, December 21. Upon arrival, officers found a woman who was unresponsive. Despite immediate efforts by emergency medical teams, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Specialist family liaison officers have been assigned to support the woman's relatives as they receive this devastating news. The identity of the deceased has not yet been formally released by the authorities.
Suspect in Custody as Enquiries Continue
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the discovery. He remains in police custody for questioning as detectives work to piece together the events that led to the woman's death.
Chief Inspector Imran Mirza of Sandwell Police described the investigation as fast-moving, with multiple lines of enquiry being actively pursued. He confirmed that one suspect is being held in connection with the incident.

Officers are conducting house-to-house enquiries in the local area, speaking to neighbours who may have seen or heard anything unusual. Police are also reviewing local CCTV and doorbell camera footage from the early hours of Sunday morning to trace any suspicious activity.
