Serial Shoplifter Banned from All Aldi and Next Stores Across Staffordshire
A serial shoplifter who repeatedly targeted two popular retail stores in Tamworth has been banned from entering every single Aldi and Next location across the entire county of Staffordshire. The ban comes as a result of a criminal behaviour order issued by authorities.
Details of the Crimes
Arran Ardayfio, 41, from Kingsway in Kingsbury, Warwickshire, stole approximately £580 worth of goods from Aldi on Glascote Road and Next at Ventura Retail Park in Tamworth. He committed these thefts on five separate occasions between Tuesday, August 12, 2025, and Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Staffordshire Police confirmed that Ardayfio pleaded guilty to five counts of shop theft. The stolen items were taken from both the Aldi and Next stores located in Tamworth during the specified period.
Criminal Behaviour Order Issued
As a consequence of his repeated offenses, Ardayfio has been given a criminal behaviour order (CBO) that prohibits him from entering any Aldi or Next store throughout Staffordshire. This ban will remain in effect for three years, until April 2, 2029.
In a statement, Staffordshire Police highlighted the significance of this order in addressing repeat offenders within the county.
Police Statement and Impact
PC Shannon Fearn, Staffordshire Police's Problem-solving lead, commented on the case, stating, "Criminal behaviour orders are just one way in which we are working to tackle repeat offenders in Staffordshire. I hope this sentence offers some closure to the affected stores."
The police emphasized that such measures are part of broader efforts to combat persistent criminal activity and protect local businesses from theft and related incidents.
This case underscores the ongoing challenges retailers face with shoplifting and the legal mechanisms available to address habitual offenders. The criminal behaviour order serves as a deterrent and a protective measure for the stores involved.
