A teenage drug dealer has been sentenced to 20 months in prison after police discovered a sock containing Class-A drugs and £380 in cash.
Attempted escape fails
Enis Kamberi, 19, of no fixed address, tried to flee from officers who observed him engaging in a cocaine transaction in Tamworth. He was seen sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that stopped in the area. A woman briefly entered the car before leaving, prompting police to follow the vehicle into Warwickshire.
When the car came to a halt, Kamberi exited and attempted to run away but was quickly apprehended.
Hidden compartment discovered
Officers searched the vehicle and found a concealed compartment containing 18 wraps of cocaine stuffed inside a sock, along with £380 in cash. Kamberi was arrested at the scene.
Guilty plea and sentencing
He later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class-A controlled drug (cocaine) and possession of criminal property. At Stafford Crown Court on Friday, June 5, Kamberi was sentenced to one year and eight months in jail.
A second individual charged in connection with the investigation failed to answer court bail and remains wanted by authorities.
