The event began just after 6pm on Easter Sunday, April 5, when police attempted to stop a car in Brierley Hill. The driver failed to comply, instead accelerating to overtake multiple vehicles at excessive speed. In a reckless maneuver, the car veered onto the wrong side of the road, leading to a collision with another vehicle at the junction of Hungary Hill and Birmingham Street in Stourbridge.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the crash. However, the driver fled the scene on foot, prompting a chase by officers who quickly apprehended him nearby.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Upon searching the car, police uncovered two knives and a significant quantity of suspected class A drugs. West Midlands Police stated: "A man’s in custody after officers recovered drugs and knives from a car in Stourbridge. The vehicle was spotted in Brierley Hill just after 6pm last night and failed to stop for officers, leading to a dangerous chase and collision."
