West Midlands Police have charged a third individual as part of their ongoing investigation into a double murder in Wolverhampton last year.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The investigation centres on the deaths of two men following a shooting on Leicester Street in the Whitmore Reans area. The incident occurred at around 3.10am on September 19, 2025.

The victims were named as 28-year-old Duaine Mills and 32-year-old Syed Zain Ali, a father-of-three. Both men died from their injuries.

Latest Arrest and Court Appearance

In the latest development, 42-year-old Samir Patel was arrested in Walsall on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, on suspicion of assisting an offender. He was subsequently charged with the same offence yesterday afternoon.

Patel is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court today, Thursday, January 15.

Ongoing Police Investigation

This charge follows previous court actions linked to the case. In November 2025, 38-year-old Mohammed Maneer Khan was charged with the murders of both Duaine Mills and Syed Zain Ali.

Additionally, a second man, Yaseen Patel, aged 34, was previously charged with assisting an offender in connection with this investigation.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "Investigations remain ongoing and we would ask anyone who has further information or footage, can call us on 101 quoting log 358 of September 19."
