A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "We’ve charged three men with a £50,000 metal theft after members of the public alerted us to a gang of suspected thieves stealing cables under the street in Birmingham city centre." The spokesperson further confirmed that a van, believed to be carrying the stolen cables, was also recovered at the scene, adding to the evidence in the case.
