Sanchita Ugale, the 22-year-old actress beloved for her role in the television serial Kumkum Bhagya, has tragically died by suicide. She took her own life on the evening of June 14 at her residence in Nalasopara, India, according to police reports.
She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, as reported by the Express.
Police Investigation Underway
In a statement, police said: “A police team inspected the scene immediately after being alerted about the incident. We did not find anything suspicious at the spot, and no suicide note was recovered.”
Authorities are continuing their investigation, and the exact reason behind her death remains unknown.
Friend’s Account
Her friend Geetanjali told Telly Talk India: “If a person says so many times that they will die by suicide, then it was not sudden. For six months she had been saying that she wanted to die, that she did not want to live.”
She added: “She was depressed, of course. I think this began in January.”
The actress had been battling depression since the beginning of 2026.
