Scarlett Moffatt: Hardest Month After Two Family Deaths

Scarlett Moffatt has opened up about the 'hardest month' of her life after suffering two devastating family losses in quick succession. The former Gogglebox star and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here winner took to social media to share a heartfelt update with her followers, revealing how she and her partner Scott Dobinson are coping with their grief.

Double Tragedy Strikes Scarlett Moffatt's Family

Last month, Scarlett announced the death of her beloved grandad, just days after revealing that her mother-in-law, Janice, had also passed away. In an emotional Instagram post at the time, Scarlett wrote: "Unfortunately, more sad news for our family this week. My grandad Moffatt has sadly passed away. Me, Scott and all our family really appreciate all of the love and kindness you've shown us following the loss of Janice and now my grandad. Thank you so much."

The news of her grandad's passing came shortly after Scarlett paid tribute to Janice, describing her as "the best Nanna to Jude, the kindest mother-in-law and one of the loveliest people I’ve ever known." She added: "I’m so upset that you won’t get to meet your second grandson, but I know you will be watching over us all."

Scarlett's Emotional Update: Grief Is Love

Now, Scarlett has shared a new update on how she and Scott are navigating their grief. Posting a series of photos of the couple through the years, ending with a picture of them with their son Jude, she wrote: "It’s been the hardest month of our lives so grateful we have each other."

In a poignant reflection, she added: "I now understand that grief is really just love. It’s all the love you still want to give, but no longer can. I’ve known @scottdobby since I was 17, and I still can’t quite believe the life we’ve built together. When grief arrives, it has a way of making you hold on to each other even tighter."

Finding Joy Amidst Sadness

Despite the overwhelming sadness, Scarlett revealed that the couple are finding moments of happiness, largely thanks to their son Jude and the anticipation of their second child. She wrote: "Amongst the sadness, we’re finding little pockets of joy, mostly thanks to Jude & bump and looking at old photographs and memories made x Sending so much love to everyone who knows this feeling. Be gentle with yourselves."

The couple announced they were expecting their second child earlier this year, with their son Jude holding a personalised newspaper that read: "Baby Dobinson another miracle coming soon!" In the announcement, they said: "We honestly can’t believe we’re writing this… After everything, we feel unbelievably lucky to be able to say… our family is growing. One little miracle gave us Jude, and now he’s going to be a big brother. And if there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that he is going to be the most amazing big brother. We are so grateful, so excited, and still a little bit in shock… Our hearts are fuller than we ever thought possible."

Support From Fans and Followers

Scarlett's candid update has prompted an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities, who have praised her for her honesty and strength during such a difficult time. Many have shared their own experiences of grief, creating a sense of community and solidarity.

The former reality TV star, who won I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2016, has always been open about her personal life, and this latest post is no exception.
