New Craft & Culture Cafe Bar to Open at Museum of the Jewellery Quarter
A new cafe bar and community space is set to launch at the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham next month, promising a vibrant addition to the area's cultural scene.
Opening Details and Location
Craft & Culture will officially open its doors on Thursday, April 2, located on the ground floor of the museum building on Vyse Street. This opening date marks a significant milestone for the venue, which aims to blend daytime cafe culture with evening bar experiences.
Day-to-Night Transformation
The venue is designed to transition seamlessly from a daytime cafe to an evening bar. During the day, it will serve speciality coffee in a social and work-friendly environment, catering to locals and visitors alike. In the evenings, it will transform into a bar offering a curated wine list and a selection of craft beers.
Customers will have the unique option to order food from their favourite local restaurants to enjoy alongside their beverages, enhancing the flexible dining experience.
Community and Cultural Focus
Reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Jewellery Quarter, Craft & Culture is envisioned as a social hub. Kingston Myles, director of enterprise and innovation at Birmingham Museums Trust, expressed excitement about the opening, stating, "Our vision is for Craft & Culture to become a social hub for residents, workers, businesses and visitors to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, by creating a welcoming communal space where people can connect, discover and celebrate."
Events and Workshops
Beyond food and drinks, the venue will host a regular programme of events, including:
- Beer and wine tastings
- Jewellery and creative workshops
- Collaborations with guest makers and artists
It will also be available for private hire, accommodating events such as birthdays, baby showers, creative group experiences, and corporate networking.
Operating Hours
Craft & Culture will operate on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10am to midnight, providing ample opportunity for both daytime visits and evening socialising.
This new establishment aims to enrich the local community by offering a versatile space that celebrates creativity and connection in the heart of Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter.
