Brindleyplace Christmas Market: Full List of 25+ Local Food & Gift Vendors
Brindleyplace to host festive food and makers market

Birmingham's city centre is already brimming with festive spirit, with Christmas markets in full swing on Cathedral, Victoria, and Centenary Squares. Now, a new contender is joining the seasonal scene, promising a uniquely local flavour.

A New Festive Destination in the Heart of the City

Brindleyplace will host its inaugural Festive Food and Makers Market on Central Square on Thursday, December 18. The event, running from 11am until 3pm, aims to offer a more intimate alternative to the city's larger markets, focusing squarely on independent creators and producers from across the region.

The festive soundtrack will be provided by the Salvation Army Band, performing live between 12pm and 2pm, while Santa Claus will be roaming the square, ready for selfies with visitors of all ages. The market promises a curated selection of gifts, homeware, and gourmet food, available to enjoy on the spot or to take away.

Meet the Local Vendors: From 'Best' Bakery to Caribbean Flavours

The vendor list is a veritable who's who of Birmingham's vibrant independent scene. A major draw is The Early Bird Bakery, a Kings Heath institution so popular that queues often stretch out the door. The bakery, which raised £22,000 through community crowdfunding in 2023 to expand, is revered for its brunch offerings and will be serving its famous toasties at the market.

They will be joined by esteemed Caribbean food specialists Leave It To Esmie, familiar to diners at Digbeth Dining Club and venues like Temper. The food offering is diverse, featuring everything from a 'real deal' Indian chippy (Cheeky Maharaja) and artisanal brownies (Brownie Che) to ethically sourced bean-to-bar chocolate (Marshall and Co.) and flavour-packed savoury snacks (Taste Scape).

Handcrafted Gifts and Unique Finds from Birmingham Makers

Beyond the food, the makers' stalls offer a chance to find truly unique Christmas presents. Shoppers can browse surrealist collages of Birmingham landmarks from Brummie Artist, handcrafted ceramics from local potter Emande Ceramics, and aromatherapy products from Sage and Grace.

The list of creators is extensive and eclectic, featuring illustrated goods from Arkive Of My Own, sustainable soy wax candles from Foxwood & Bramble, goth-infused folk art from My Beautiful Boneyard, and gorgeous sea glass jewellery from Tilly’s Little Treasures, made with glass collected from English coastlines.

The full roster confirms over 25 local traders, ensuring a rich and varied festive shopping experience that directly supports the city's small businesses and artistic community. This new market solidifies Brindleyplace's role as a key cultural hub and offers a fresh, locally-focused celebration in the run-up to Christmas.
