Role Play Village with American Diner Opens in Kidderminster

A new role play village featuring a 'pretend American diner' has opened at a Kidderminster shopping centre, sparking excitement among parents. Wacky Playland, located on Weavers Wharf retail park, initially launched last year with a soft play area, multi-level climbing frame, wavy slides, and a cafe. Now, husband and wife team Connor and Nicole Galbraith have expanded the venue with a dedicated role play village for children.

What the New Role Play Village Offers

In addition to the 'Wacky Diner', the village includes a fire station, florists, vets, post office, construction site, and pink house. Each section is designed to encourage imaginative play. Connor Galbraith, whose own children are four and two, said: 'Since opening last year, we've seen our little visitors absolutely love the role play area. We strongly believe imaginative role play is incredibly important in helping children develop communication, confidence, creativity, and social skills as they explore and understand the world around them.'

He added: 'That's why my wife and I wanted to build on the space and create something truly special for families to enjoy together, which has now grown into a role play village featuring seven different interactive sections. Seeing the children's faces light up when we reopened on Wednesday, especially our own two children and the regular families we welcome each week, made all the hard work instantly worthwhile.'

Future Plans and Parent Reactions

The team is already planning further expansion, with an extension to the toddler soft play area scheduled to open at the beginning of June. Parents have reacted enthusiastically on Facebook. One said: 'Fantastic update, kids will love it even more!' Another commented: 'Wow.. Wish I was a kid.. How fantastic do these look xx well done everyone on your hard work.' A third mum added: 'Looks amazing! We can't wait to visit.'

Weavers Wharf is easily accessible from Birmingham, approximately a 45-minute drive via the A456 or a 40-minute train ride from Birmingham Snow Hill Station. For more family activities, follow Brummie Mummies on Facebook and Instagram, listen to podcasts, and sign up for the free newsletter.
