The Big Food Festival, a free independent Welsh food and drink celebration, is set to take over Newport's Beechwood Park from Friday, July 24 to Sunday, July 26, 2026. The three-day event promises a diverse range of street food traders, live entertainment, and craft beverages, all with free entry.
What to Expect at the Festival
Organisers have partnered with regional music coordinators to provide live soundtrack performances across the entire weekend. Visitors can enjoy a wide selection of global cuisines including slow-cooked barbecue, Japanese fusion, Greek dishes, Afghan food, smash burgers, and fresh desserts. The festival bar will showcase independent Welsh drink brands alongside various craft beers, ciders, spirits, and soft drinks. The celebration is completely open to families and pet dogs with activities suitable for people of all ages.
Origins of Big Food Festival
The independent culinary brand was originally founded in 2025 by two business partners who launched their first event in Neath. The initiative has since expanded across South and West Wales to host successful events in Brecon, Swansea, and Aberystwyth.
Organiser's Excitement
Maria Gania, co-founder and Event Director, said: "We are so excited to bring Big Food Festival to Newport. We handpick every single trader ourselves, so people can turn up knowing everything on offer is genuinely brilliant. Teaming up with Newport Summer Sessions means the whole weekend has an incredible soundtrack too. Bring your family, bring your dog, bring your appetite. It's free entry, so just come along."
