Mold Carnival's It's a Knockout Challenge Returns for 2026
Mold Carnival's It's a Knockout Challenge Returns for 2026

Mold Town Council’s Carnival Committee is calling on local businesses, groups, clubs, pubs, and everyone in between to get involved in one of the summer’s most exciting events: the It’s a Knockout Challenge at this year’s Mold Carnival. Following the tremendous success of last year’s competition, where all participating teams had an unforgettable time, the committee has decided to bring this wacky, action-packed team competition back for 2026.

Event Details

Mold Carnival takes place on Sunday, July 5, at Maes Bodlonfa Park. This year promises even more fun with the return of It’s a Knockout, inspired by the classic TV show. Expect inflatable obstacles, silly costumes, foam, water, and big laughs as teams compete for the title of Mold Carnival Knockout Champions 2026.

How to Enter

Teams of seven to 10 adults (aged 18 and over, minimum height 1.4m) are invited to register. Pre-registration is required, with no entries accepted on the day. Fancy dress is encouraged, but teams can also wear branded work gear. The entry fee is completely free, but only 18 teams can compete, so early registration is advised. To request an entry form, email events@moldtowncouncil.org.uk or call 01352 758532 (option 3). The games will last approximately three to four hours.

Benefits for Participants

It’s a Knockout is ideal for team building or simply having fun with friends. It offers a unique, active day out to reward staff or boost morale. All participating teams will be promoted on the council’s social media channels, with links to their businesses or organisations, providing excellent local visibility and a chance to stand out as proud community supporters.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Businesses can also support Mold Carnival through sponsorship packages ranging from £50 to £1,000. These packages boost business visibility while supporting a much-loved community event. Teams are encouraged to carry out their own fundraising for causes of their choice during the day.

Community Spirit

Jane Evans, Mold Town Council’s Events and Community Engagement Officer, said: “Let’s make 2026 Carnival unforgettable – together. Mold Carnival is always a brilliant day out for all ages. After last year, we received amazing feedback from all the teams, who had so much fun taking part, that we decided to do it all again. I loved watching It’s a Knockout growing up; it always looks like so much fun! So we’re inviting teams to enter the competition. All teams can also join in the Carnival parade before the game; wear fancy dress or logo’d T-shirts and make some noise as the parade makes its way through the town onto the carnival fields. Bring your supporters, your banners, and your best game face for a fantastic day of fun, laughter, and community spirit – and see if your team has what it takes to be crowned Mold Carnival Knockout Champions!”

More Carnival Attractions

It’s a Knockout is just one part of a fun-packed Carnival Day. Free entertainment includes an interactive dinosaur show with Zeus the giant T-Rex and baby dinosaurs, crazy science workshops for kids, and popular entertainer DJ Cookie returning for his 15th year, supporting the event free of charge. There will also be live performances, character visits, community entertainment, a fun fair, and much more. The carnival prides itself on offering something for everyone, welcoming all ages and abilities.
