An extraordinary private collection of high-end luxury fashion is set to go under the hammer in North Yorkshire next week, with estimates that the 66-lot sale could reach up to £40,000. The collection, belonging to an East Yorkshire fashion enthusiast, features stunning handbags, coats, footwear, and accessories from iconic global fashion houses.
Unworn Designer Pieces Create Global Interest
Auctioneer Coralie Thomson revealed that 90% of the items have never been worn, as the vendor—who owns an even larger collection—simply never got around to them. "It is an absolutely stunning luxury fashion auction," Thomson said. "Everything remains in absolutely immaculate condition." The sale has attracted enormous interest, with enquiries flooding in from across the country.
Chanel 19 Bag: The Star of the Show
The highlight of the auction is an unused Chanel 19 medium flap bag, described as one of the most coveted bags in the fashion world. This piece was the last creation of Karl Lagerfeld, debuting in Chanel's 2019 Autumn Ready to Wear Collection months after his death. The bag features cream quilted lambskin leather, a mixed gold, silver, and ruthenium-tone chain strap, and the signature CC monogram turn-lock fastening. It comes with its original dustbag and box and is estimated to sell for £3,500–£5,000.
Other Luxury Highlights
The sale includes a selection of 20 designer handbags, eight of which are predicted to individually surpass £1,000. Among them are red and beige medium-sized Louis Vuitton Twist Moyene Modele bags from the 2015 Cruise Collection, estimated at £1,000–£1,500 each. A limited-edition Louis Vuitton 'City Steamer' MM 'Night Lights' tote bag from the Summer 2017 collection is expected to make £1,200–£2,000. Buyers can also bid on silk scarves, designer sunglasses, and winter coats from famous French and Italian designers.
