Jungle Thrills Begin with Dramatic Parachute Drop

The highly anticipated 2025 series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here has officially launched with a spectacular aerial entrance. The first wave of famous faces, including Heart presenter Kelly Brook and Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, made a dramatic arrival by parachuting from helicopters over Australia's famous Gold Coast.

This thrilling opening trial, which took place ahead of the show's premiere on Sunday, November 16 at 9pm, set the tone for what promises to be the toughest series yet. The five celebrities touched down on Broadwater Beach, where their jungle journey truly began.

Meet the First Campmates

Joining 45-year-old Kelly Brook for the daring parachute jump were four other well-known personalities:

  • Martin Kemp, the iconic Spandau Ballet bassist
  • Aitch, the popular British rapper
  • Eddie Kadi, the celebrated comedian
  • Shona McGarty, the former EastEnders actress

Dressed in a striking leopard-print jumpsuit and boots, Kelly Brook was pictured looking both terrified and thrilled as she descended from the sky. After a safe landing, the group immediately celebrated their success with a spontaneous group hug and an impromptu dance on the sand.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly watched the action unfold from a nearby headland, cheering on the new arrivals as they completed their first challenge.

A New Competitive Edge for the 25th Year

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the hit ITV show, and producers are introducing significant changes to make the series more competitive than ever. Executive producer Olly Nash revealed to the Daily Mail that the 2025 series will feature more celebrities taking part in trials than any previous season.

In a major rule change, celebrities will now only be able to participate in a maximum of two consecutive Bushtucker Trials. If a star is voted for two challenges back-to-back, they will be exempt from the next vote, though the system will later reset.

Nash explained the thinking behind the tougher approach: "It's a tough and gruelling show, and there's nothing wrong with driving that home. We need to see more celebrities earning their keep, that's the most important thing." He added that unlike last year's positive cast, this year's celebrities "are going to have to fight more, earn more and play a bigger part in camp."

The competitive spirit was evident from the very start. Following the beach landing, the two winners of the initial challenge were whisked away in a "Getaway Car" to enjoy celebratory champagne and a comfortable bed. Meanwhile, the remaining three faced a rougher night's sleep after being transported in the show's infamous "Cocko Van".

Soon, all five will trade their designer outfits for the show's signature red and khaki uniforms as they enter the main camp. They'll later be joined by a second wave of campmates, including Emmerdale's Lisa Riley, TV personality Jack Osbourne, Lioness legend Alex Scott, content creator AngryGinge (Morgan Burtwistle) and comedy icon Ruby Wax.

With the stage now set for the November 16 premiere, viewers can expect a series filled with more challenges, tougher conditions, and intense competition as the celebrities battle to become King or Queen of the Jungle.
