Aldi is set to make UK retail history by becoming the first-ever supermarket in the country to stock a highly coveted Italian sparkling wine. Starting Thursday, June 4, Aldi will offer the Asti Spumante Rosé DOCG at an affordable price of £4.99.
A Rare Find in the UK
Until now, this specific pink bubbly has been notoriously difficult to find in the UK. Aldi has secured a nationwide launch of the vibrant, coral-pink fizz, which is crafted from a premium blend of aromatic Moscato and Brachetto grapes in Italy's renowned Piedmont region. Produced in Asti, located in northwestern Italy, this wine features delicate floral aromas, juicy berry notes, and a refreshing fizz.
Perfect for Summer
With its vibrant pink hue and naturally fruity character, Asti Rosé is a versatile sparkling wine ideal for summer gatherings or celebratory toasts. Aldi's wine expert and Master of Wine, Sam Caporn, commented: "It’s a beautiful coral-pink fizz with inviting aromas of sun-ripened strawberries, juicy pineapple, pear and delicate orange blossom. The flavours are lively yet elegant, with a moreish medium-sweet finish that makes it ideal for summer sipping."
Caporn added: "Asti Rosé is notoriously hard to find in the UK, so Aldi’s launch is a rare treat for fizz lovers. Pair it with a strawberry pavlova or a fresh fruit salad for a taste of an Italian summer – for just £4.99!"
A Must-Try for Wine Lovers
Aldi’s new Asti Spumante Rosé DOCG is a must-try for wine enthusiasts seeking something special this summer. The supermarket, which rivals Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Asda, and Sainsbury's, has stores across Birmingham and will make the wine available nationwide from June 4.
