Ashford Sinfonia Calls for New Musicians to Join Its Welcoming Orchestra
Ashford Sinfonia is actively seeking new players to become part of its friendly amateur orchestra, which gathers weekly during term time. Originally established several years ago as a beginners and returners ensemble, the orchestra has evolved significantly and now performs a diverse array of interesting and challenging musical pieces.
A Supportive Environment for Musical Growth
While the orchestra maintains ambitious goals, it extends a warm welcome to new members who wish to share in the joy of making music together. Under the skilled direction of musical conductor Timothy Bushnell, Ashford Sinfonia is continuously pushing its boundaries and embracing new challenges. The group organizes informal concerts once or twice annually, with a recent highlight being a joint Christmas performance with Ashford Community Choir at the end of 2025, which received enthusiastic acclaim from audiences.
Opportunities for Players of All Levels
Ashford Sinfonia is looking for musicians who can play at approximately grade four or five level and commit to regular attendance. Beginners are strongly encouraged to join, as they will gain invaluable experience from participating in an orchestral setting. The orchestra meets every Monday evening from 7:15 PM to 9:00 PM at St. Mary the Virgin Church on Bentley Road in Willesborough.
