Bad Bunny Explains US Tour Absence for Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour
Bad Bunny Explains US Tour Absence

Global music sensation Bad Bunny has opened up about the notable absence of United States dates on his highly anticipated Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour, offering a candid explanation in a recent interview.

Why No US Tour Dates?

In a new conversation with Variety, Bad Bunny addressed the question on many fans' minds: why are there currently no US stops planned for his upcoming stadium tour? The artist's response was straightforward, stating that including the US in this particular tour is "unnecessary."

He elaborated by pointing out that American audiences have had ample opportunity to see him perform over the past six years. Specifically, for his 2024 Most Wanted Tour, Bad Bunny completed an extensive run of 45 dates across the United States, providing substantial access for his stateside fanbase.

Focus on Puerto Rican Residency

Earlier this year, in January, Bad Bunny announced a special 30-show residency titled No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí in his homeland of Puerto Rico. The residency, which took place between July and September, sold out immediately, underscoring the artist's deep connection to the territory.

Bad Bunny expressed that this residency was a long-held dream, saying, "It was hard to complete my last tour, because all I wanted to do was move into this chapter." While Puerto Rico is a self-governed US territory, it is not a state, and the residency represents a distinct artistic focus separate from a conventional US tour.

Current Tour Plans

The Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour, as currently announced, includes major stadium dates across South America, Australia, Asia, and Europe. This global itinerary marks a strategic shift away from the US market for this specific touring cycle.

Based on his comments, it appears unlikely that Bad Bunny will schedule US concerts until a future tour, allowing him to explore new international audiences and honour his commitment to the Puerto Rican residency concept.

Potential for a Concert Film

When questioned about the possibility of a concert film for either the Puerto Rican residency or the world tour, Bad Bunny again used the term "unnecessary." However, his label CEO, Noah Assad, provided a more nuanced perspective.

Assad revealed that while they record almost all of Bad Bunny's shows, they have intentionally avoided publishing permanent concert footage. "We've had conversations about doing a film for the residency, and we are having our conversations about doing it for the world tour, but there's no pressure on us," Assad stated, leaving the door open for potential future releases.

This development in Bad Bunny's touring strategy highlights an artist at a pivotal moment, prioritising personal artistic chapters and global expansion over familiar markets, much to the intrigue of his worldwide following.
