Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company Brings Come From Away to Boxmoor Playhouse
Come From Away Comes to Hemel Hempstead This Summer

How do you turn a handful of chairs into a plane carrying hundreds of passengers? That is the challenge facing Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company this summer as they bring the internationally acclaimed musical Come From Away to the Boxmoor Playhouse.

Production Details

Running from June 30 to July 4, the production tells the remarkable true story of what happened in the days after the September 11 attacks of 2001, when 38 planes were diverted to the small town of Gander in Newfoundland. Almost overnight, the town’s population doubled – and its residents responded with extraordinary kindness, opening their homes and lives to complete strangers.

Staging and Storytelling

Come From Away offers a rare combination of emotional storytelling, inventive staging and an uplifting message that stays with audiences long after the final curtain. The creative team has devised innovative ways to transform simple props into the bustling airport and community spaces that define the narrative.
