Disney+ has launched a rare flash sale, slashing subscription prices to £3.99 per month for three months for new and eligible returning subscribers. This move positions Disney+ as the most affordable major streaming service, undercutting rivals such as Netflix (£5.99), Amazon Prime Video (£5.99), HBO Max (£4.99), and Apple TV+ (£9.99).
The offer applies to the Standard with Ads plan, which normally costs £5.99 per month. Customers who sign up by Monday, May 6, will lock in the reduced rate for three months. After the promotional period, the subscription automatically renews at the standard price of £5.99 unless cancelled.
Upgrade Options and Benefits
For those seeking an ad-free experience, Disney+ offers two upgraded tiers. The Disney+ Standard plan, now reduced from £9.99 to £6.99 per month, provides ad-free streaming. The Disney+ Premium plan, reduced from £14.99 to £9.99 per month, adds 4K UHD and HDR picture quality, Dolby Atmos support, and up to four simultaneous streams.
Sky Bundle and Upcoming Content
Separately, Sky now includes Disney+ in its revamped Ultimate TV bundle, which also features Netflix and HBO Max. The £24 per month package offers complimentary streaming subscriptions valued at around £240 annually, along with 135 channels including Sky Atlantic.
Disney+ is preparing for the second season of Rivals, the steamy drama starring David Tennant, which premieres on May 15. The Dame Jilly Cooper adaptation will air in two six-episode blocks, starting with a three-episode launch. Other new releases include The Testaments, a dystopian drama set after The Handmaid's Tale, and the second season of Paradise.
Fan favorites such as Scrubs and Malcolm in the Middle have returned with revival series, alongside Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar content like Daredevil: Born Again and Maul – Shadow Lord. Reality TV fans can enjoy Raising Chelsea, following Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo as new parents.
Customer Reviews
Disney+ has received numerous positive reviews on Trustpilot. One subscriber commented: "I've been a subscriber since it launched in the UK and for me the experience has only got better. I find the catalogue is huge and always something for me and my family to watch." Another reviewer noted: "I've always loved Disney+ and while it isn't the most expansive streaming platform, what it does contain is good quality and easy to watch. I'd also consider it quite affordable."
However, some customers expressed dissatisfaction with ad frequency. One reviewer stated: "Too many ads while watching a show. Satellite had less frequent ads." Meanwhile, a five-star review praised: "Very good selection, friendly support and easy to cancel if you need to. Very easy to navigate their site and the openness and transparency they show should be a model for others."
