The Dudley native has thrown herself headfirst into the Virgin Island experience, but some viewers may already recognise her from an unlikely source. Millie, 22, a theatre usher from Dudley, has revealed she appeared as a child in the opening credits of BBC's Rip Off Britain.
Virgin Island is in full swing with a brand new episode just hours away. Three instalments of Channel 4's reality hit have now been broadcast, with the fourth airing tonight (May 5) at 9pm. The forthcoming episode will mark the halfway point of the series, with eight episodes comprising the second season in total.
Much like the debut series, the show follows 12 sexually inexperienced adults who are sent to a stunning island in Croatia alongside a team of sex and relationship experts. There, they develop the practical and emotional skills required to enjoy happy and healthy relationships.
As viewers become increasingly acquainted with the 12-strong cast as the series unfolds, some may experience a sense of déjà vu when it comes to 22-year-old contestant Millie. The theatre usher from Dudley spoke to Birmingham Live ahead of the season's broadcast and disclosed the unlikely place viewers may already recognise her from: the opening credits of BBC's Rip Off Britain.
The consumer watchdog programme features Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville, who endeavour to investigate and resolve situations where viewers felt they had been swindled, whether by parcel couriers or fraudulent websites.
"When I was younger I was used for the opening credits for Rip Off Britain, when I was like 10," Millie revealed. "We went and watched it at a place near me, and they've just recorded me and kept using me." She continued: "I was like 'You know what, this is sick.' I think I'm still on sometimes now, because people go 'Is that Millie when she was younger?' I'm like yeah!"
Last night, a particularly intimate scene played out on the show as Tegan, 25, was asked to practise directed gazing with her surrogate partner therapist, Risdon Roberts. The pair undressed for the exercise, which was intended to evoke feelings of desire, with Risdon guiding Tegan to observe her exposed chest, bottom and genitals.
Reflecting on her own involvement with sex surrogacy on the programme, Millie described it as "100 per cent important" to the overall process, regardless of how it might seem to those viewing from the outside. "It's one of those things that actually helps people blossom so much," she said. "I understand that people are like 'That's weird', but I think unless you're not in that kind of situation I don't think people will really understand as much."
Virgin Island continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 4. Episodes will also be made available to watch after broadcast on Channel 4's catch-up service.
