Families can enjoy a unique experience this weekend by grooming Highland cows and meeting a newborn calf at a farm located approximately two hours from Birmingham. The Highland Hoedown event is taking place at Cockfields Farm Park in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, offering visitors hands-on interactions with these iconic animals.

The event, which originally took place during the May half term, will also run on June 6 and 7. Attendees can groom nine-month-old Highland cow Ghia and meet a newborn calf. In addition, there are opportunities to interact with small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs, observe chickens and ducks, and discover lizards, snakes, and spiders, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
