A new traditional Irish pub, Éimear's, is set to open its doors on Broad Street on Friday, May 29, at the former Players nightclub venue. The pub is the sister bar of the legendary Birmingham club Snobs, which relocated to Broad Street in spring 2024.
Family Tribute and Community Spirit
Owner Wayne Tracey announced that Éimear's is named after his daughter and serves as a tribute to his family and the city's Irish community. He stated: "Éimear's will be a traditional Irish pub in the heart of Birmingham, proudly owned and operated by an Irish family. The pub is named after my daughter, Éimear, and is a tribute to my wife, my late father, and my Irish family pride and the community spirit I grew up with in Birmingham's Irish community."
What to Expect
Tracey emphasized that the venue aims to be a home from home for the Irish community while welcoming everyone. The pub will feature regular live music throughout the week and will broadcast major live sporting events, including GAA, football, and rugby, on big screens. "We genuinely can’t wait to welcome people into Éimear's for the very first time. Sláinte!" he added.
The addition of Éimear's is a welcome development for Broad Street following the closure of Players in 2022. Snobs and Éimear's join a portfolio of sister venues in Birmingham, including the sunny Victoria Square bar Theatrix, the cool Henman & Cooper, and Sobar in the Arcadian.
