ITV is set to stream a Canadian series that viewers have described as 'one of the best' legal dramas ever. Family Law, starring Jewel Staite and Emmy-winner Victor Garber, will be added to ITVX's drama catalogue on June 21 and is expected to appeal to fans of Nicola Walker's series The Split.
The courtroom drama centres on Abigail Bianchi (Jewel), a high-functioning recovering alcoholic whose legal career lies in ruins following a very public, very messy meltdown. 'Forced to work for her estranged father, Harry Svensson (Victor), Abigail must navigate the chaotic world of family law while attempting to build relationships with the half-siblings she has never met,' a synopsis said.
The comedy drama, which also features Zach Smadu and Genelle Williams, launched in 2021 and ran for four series. It proved a hit with audiences, with one viewer posting on review site Rotten Tomatoes: 'Refreshing, witty, and heartfelt. The cast are talented and Jewel Staite is a star!'
