Married at First Sight Australia's Scott and Gia have both revealed that they've covered up their matching tattoos. The pair originally got inked with a barbed wire heart containing the number 13 to celebrate four weeks of being together during the show. However, as the series progressed, their relationship deteriorated, leading to the decision to hide the tattoos.
Scott's Cover-Up
Scott was the first to document his cover-up journey, sharing a vlog in April. He transformed the original tattoo into a design of an eagle. In the caption of his video, he explained: "This eagle represents something for me. I got it for freedom, living life on my own terms and not being controlled."
Gia's Transformation
Gia later followed suit, also vlogging her cover-up process. She chose to get a bunny tattooed over the matching design. Speaking about the new ink, she said: "It really made me feel like a new person again and that my past is gone. It's just a cute little sweet reminder to stay curious and be playful. It also has a little nod to my Playboy history."
Post-Show Developments
Since filming ended, Gia has moved on romantically. She confirmed a new relationship with Alan Wallace, a former Love Triangle star, while the show was still airing in Australia. In an interview with Daily Mail, she stated: "I can't keep pretending I'm with Scott when I'm so in love with Alan."
The cover-ups come after a turbulent period on the show, including the 'Grass Is Greener' task that revealed Gia had flirted heavily with her alternative match, causing Scott distress. Fans will see the final outcome during the upcoming Final Vows episode in the UK.
