MAFS Australia's Steven Opens Up About Rachel Split: 'Ship Has Sailed'
MAFS Australia's Steven Reveals Split Status with Rachel

Married At First Sight Australia couple Rachel and Steven have confirmed their split, with Steven revealing the unfortunate status of their relationship now. The pair, who were one of 2026's favourite pairings, said 'yes' to each other at Final Vows but ended their romance just weeks later.

Steven Confirms Breakup

Speaking to Chattr, Steven shared: 'Currently me and Rachel are broken up unfortunately, but we are good friends. We’re cordial. Everything is good. We still talk almost every day and we’re working with each other to get through this.'

He added that it 'sucks' the romance never worked out and revealed Rachel ended any hopes of reconciliation. 'Rachel did say to me on Stan that it’s all over. That ship has most likely sailed. Sucks,' he admitted.

Reflections on the Relationship

Steven expressed regret over the breakup, saying he often thinks about 'what ifs' and called watching the show back an emotional experience. Neither Steven nor Rachel have dated anyone else since the experiment ended in October 2025.

Rachel also opened up on Instagram, writing: 'There was so much of our story that never made it to screen — the quiet moments, the laughter, the depth of what we were building together. What we shared was real, and it was special in a way that I’ll always carry with me.' She added that she has made peace with the fact that not every chapter lasts forever.

What Went Wrong

The couple's relationship unraveled shortly after Final Vows, with Steven admitting he was done during the reunion couch session. Despite their efforts to make things work away from cameras, the connection ultimately faded.

Fans had hoped for a reunion after Steven's earlier comments about regret, but his latest interview confirms the split is permanent. The pair remain on good terms and continue to support each other through the aftermath of the show.
