Crowds in Warwickshire and the West Midlands are in for a treat today (May 30) as the Red Arrows deliver their breathtaking aerial display. The iconic team is one of the star attractions at the Midlands Air Festival, taking place at Ragley Hall.
Rare maneuvers and reduced aircraft
Wing Commander Jon Bond revealed that the Red Arrows' routine features maneuvers that haven't been performed for 30 years, with jets soaring to approximately 6,500ft before spreading out into a wall formation in front of a crowd of 30,000.
However, the Red Arrows will be flying with seven aircraft rather than their customary nine for the majority of their 2026 displays. Jon explained that the change has been made to help preserve the ageing Hawk T1 jets as the team prepares to switch to a new aircraft.
Schedule and timings
Departing Exeter Airport at 11.45am on Saturday (May 30), the Red Arrows will appear over Torbay at 12pm. They will then leave Exeter Airport at 2.41pm for a flypast over Upper Wardington at around 2.54pm.
Following a period on the ground at East Midlands Airport, the Reds will take off once more at 5.48pm for their Midlands Air Festival display at Ragley Hall, before returning at 6.33pm. All timings are subject to change due to operational requirements, reports Coventry Live.
