Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre is preparing for a spectacularly busy year in 2026, with a stellar line-up of shows set to grace its stage from January through to December. The programme promises the perfect escape, featuring a mix of award-winning musicals, gripping plays, side-splitting comedy, and family-friendly entertainment, with tickets still available for many performances.
A Star-Studded Season of Theatre
The year kicks off in royal style with the return of the global phenomenon, SIX The Musical. This Tudor pop concert, where the six wives of Henry VIII take to the mic, runs from January 20 to January 31. Having won over 35 international awards, including a Tony, its previous visit was a sell-out success.
February brings chaos and calamity to the stage with Fawlty Towers - the Play. Adapted by John Cleese from the classic TV series and fresh from a sold-out West End run, this production promises to recreate the show's most unforgettable moments. It will be performed from February 10 to 21.
March gets a dose of pure pop nostalgia with Here & Now - The Steps Musical. Hailed as a major jukebox hit, this feel-good story set to the songs of Steps arrives in Wolverhampton from March 10 to 15.
The atmosphere turns chillingly psychological in April with a new stage adaptation of The Talented Mr Ripley. This thriller, based on Patricia Highsmith's novel, follows Tom Ripley's deadly obsession in 1950s Italy from April 20 to 25.
Supernatural suspense follows in May with the return of the hit play 2:22 A Ghost Story. Starring James Bye, Natalie Casey, Gary Lucy, and Shvorne Marks, the story of a possibly haunted house runs from May 18 to 23.
Family Fun and Comedy Legends
Summer brings two fantastic family offerings. First, Roald Dahl's The Enormous Crocodile The Musical slinks into the theatre from June 18 to 21. Then, the beloved Heeler family returns in the Olivier award-nominated Bluey's Big Play, featuring ingenious puppets, from July 23 to 26.
In September, comedy takes centre stage with The Last Laugh. This West End play imagines a meeting between comedy greats Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe, and Bob Monkhouse, and will be performed from September 9 to 12.
Blockbuster Finale and Festive Cheer
Autumn welcomes one of the world's most popular musicals as Mamma Mia! brings its sun-drenched ABBA hits to Wolverhampton. The story of love, friendship, and identity on a Greek island runs from October 27 to November 7.
Finally, the year concludes with a festive premiere for the Grand Theatre: a brand-new pantomime adventure, Treasure Island. Starring Tam Ryan and Ian Adams, this pirate-packed show promises pure family entertainment and runs from November 28, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
With such a diverse and high-quality programme, 2026 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year for theatregoers in Wolverhampton and beyond.
