From April 2026, when pupils return after the Easter holidays, more than 500 new breakfast clubs will commence operations in schools throughout the city.

This substantial development means that free breakfast clubs will be functioning in an impressive total of 1,250 educational establishments across nine English regions, including the West Midlands and Birmingham specifically. The programme is designed to benefit more than 300,000 children nationally, providing crucial nutritional support at the beginning of each school day.

The initiative enables participating schools to offer dedicated 30-minute sessions before formal lessons begin. During these sessions, all children can access a complimentary breakfast, ensuring they commence their educational activities properly nourished and prepared to learn effectively.
