A brand-new live event is coming to Derby this summer, combining high-energy entertainment with fundraising for a vital cause. Charity Slam Jam takes place on Saturday, June 13 at Becket Primary School, in Monk Street, Derby, bringing a full afternoon of professional wrestling action to the local community. Doors open at 1pm, and the first bell is at 1.30pm. Entry costs £5 per person.
The event is being held in support of ManUP?, in association with Aspire Wrestling with proceeds going toward raising awareness for men’s mental health initiatives. Fans can expect a packed card of matches, including a headline 30-person rumble to crown the first-ever Charity Slam Jam Champion.
A spokesman said: “We wanted to create something exciting and accessible for Derby — something affordable that families can enjoy together while also supporting an important cause. The atmosphere is going to be incredible.” One of the standout matches will be between two veterans of the British Independent Wrestling scene, as they look to prove “One Last Time” who is the better man. Will it be local hero and head trainer of Aspire Wrestling, Paul Malen or the man looking to take the fun out of the show, No Fun Dunne.
Alongside a host of larger-than-life characters, the organisers hope to raise a lot of money for a great cause and entertain the fans in attendance.
