Nintendo Switch 2 drops to lowest price ever at Argos before price hike
Nintendo Switch 2 lowest price at Argos before price increase

The Nintendo Switch 2 has dropped to its lowest ever price at Argos, offering UK shoppers a limited opportunity to purchase the console before a confirmed price increase takes effect from September 2026.

Current deals on the Nintendo Switch 2

Originally retailing at £395.99, the Switch 2 is now available at Argos for £380. Argos has marked this as a 'special offer' and confirmed it is the 'lowest price ever' at the retailer. Meanwhile, Amazon offers the same console for £369.95. Both prices apply to the black model with subtly coloured blue and red Joy-Con controllers.

These deals come just months after Nintendo announced a price hike, citing changes in market conditions, particularly the global surge in RAM and storage component costs driven by AI data centres. From September 1, 2026, the Switch 2 will increase by $50 in the US and €30 in Europe, though the exact UK price is yet to be confirmed.

Why the Switch 2 remains popular

The Switch 2, launched in June 2025 as the successor to the original Switch, offers the same hybrid functionality: it can be used as a handheld console or connected to a TV for a larger screen experience. The Joy-Con controllers attach magnetically and include motion control and vibration feedback. Nintendo's iconic game franchises, such as Mario Kart and Zelda, continue to drive demand.

However, potential buyers should note that the Switch 2 is heavier than its predecessor, which may affect comfort during handheld use. Additionally, the listed prices cover the console only; games are sold separately. Amazon currently bundles the Switch 2 with Mario Kart World for £424.94 or with Pokémon Pokopia for £427.90.

With only a couple of months before the price increase, now is the time for shoppers to secure the best deal on the Nintendo Switch 2.
