The Royal Mail has issued a delivery warning affecting five Birmingham postcodes amid ongoing delays. The warning applies to B11, B12, B25, B26 and B27 areas.

In a letter sent to households, Royal Mail stated: "We're pleased to confirm that the resourcing issues reported at the Redfern Park Delivery Office have improved, and services are recovering. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your understanding. Kind regards, Royal Mail Customer Services."
The company aims to deliver to all addresses six days a week, but acknowledges that local issues can cause temporary disruptions.
Reasons for Delays
Royal Mail's website explains: "In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors. In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive."
Company Response
A Royal Mail spokesperson commented: "We know how important it is for people to receive their post reliably, especially when it contains personal, financial or medical information. We take concerns about delays seriously and any customer experiencing a specific issue with their mail should contact our customer services team so it can be looked into."
Improving quality of service is the top priority. Nationally, around 92 per cent of letters arrive on time and over 99 per cent within a week, but the company acknowledges more work is needed to deliver the reliable service customers expect. Changes are being implemented through a new delivery model backed by an improvement plan.
Recent Ownership Change
Last year, Royal Mail was acquired by International Distribution Services, with Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky's IP Group completing a £3.6 billion takeover.
