West Midlands Police and paramedics were dispatched to Yatesbury Avenue, where the pedestrian had been struck. The boy received treatment at the scene from a critical care team before being transported to Birmingham Children's Hospital under emergency driving conditions.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson stated: "We were called to reports of a collision between an e-bike and a pedestrian on Yatesbury Avenue at 7:53 PM, yesterday, and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer, and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene."

"On arrival, crews found a teenage boy who they treated for serious injuries before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to Birmingham Children’s Hospital," the spokesperson added.
