A rule change has been confirmed for 59 cars in the UK, with massive discounts of up to £3,750 on popular vehicles. Kia has now become the latest car maker to confirm it is taking part in the Labour Party government's Electric Car Grant.
Kia EV4 Price Reduction
The Kia EV4 will now start from £30,995 with the Electric Car Grant incentive included. The model now qualifies for the £3,750 incentive, up from £1,500. Marc Hedrich, President and CEO of Kia Europe, said: 'Producing the EV4 locally in Europe strengthens our position in one of the world's most competitive EV markets while ensuring advanced, affordable electric mobility is widely accessible.'
Government Funding
The discounts come after Labour Party Chancellor Rachel Reeves confirmed around £1.3 billion in funding to support the Electric Car Grant last November. In her Autumn Budget, Ms Reeves confirmed she would be bringing the total investment to almost £2 billion.
