NCP Collapses into Administration After 95 Years of Operation
NCP, the long-standing car park operator, has officially collapsed into administration, casting uncertainty over the future of its numerous sites across the United Kingdom. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has been appointed to handle the potential insolvency process, marking a significant downturn for the company that has been a familiar presence in town centres since its inception in 1931.

In a statement, PwC confirmed that all NCP car parks will remain operational for the time being, with staff retaining their positions as administrators work to stabilise the business. Zelf Hussain, a joint administrator and partner at PwC, highlighted the challenging trading environment that NCP has faced in recent years.
"NCP has encountered a difficult trading landscape over several years, with evolving consumer behaviours affecting usage volumes and a high fixed cost-base resulting in ongoing trading losses," Hussain explained. He added that PwC will engage with landlords, employees, and other stakeholders to explore all available options, including the potential sale of the business or its parts, to achieve the best possible outcome for creditors.

The parent company, Park24, noted that despite efforts to address declining demand through new car park developments and cost-reduction measures such as workforce restructuring, NCP continued to suffer from structural losses. This persistent financial strain ultimately led to the decision to enter administration, ending a 95-year legacy in the UK car park industry.
