Birmingham City have over a month to wait until they learn their fixtures for the 2026/27 Championship season. Blues' players and staff are currently holidaying after securing a 10th-placed finish in their first season back in the Championship under Chris Davies.
Davies has already started planning for pre-season and the vast majority of Blues' players are expected to report back to the Elite Performance and Innovation Centre towards the end of June. Coincidentally, that is also when Blues will receive their new fixture list. The EFL plan to release fixtures for next season on Thursday, June 25 at midday.
Blues' season will begin with a Carabao Cup tie on the weekend of August 7-9 rather than the midweek after the first league fixture. The Carabao Cup first round draw is also due to take place on June 25. The Championship season will begin the following weekend, August 14-16, and Leagues One and Two will also commence on the same day.
Three of Blues' opening five matches last season, including the Carabao Cup win over Sheffield United, were screened live on Sky Sports and there is a chance they will be a draw for the broadcaster again at the beginning of next term. Sky Sports will confirm their selections up until the end of September by July 2 and by July 31 all selections up to and including the weekend of 8-11 January 2027 will have been confirmed.
