A man is fighting for his life following an e-bike crash in Bilston on the evening of Thursday, May 21. Emergency services were called to High Street just after 9:30 PM after reports that an e-bike had come off the road.
Emergency Response
A MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene, supported by two ambulances and two paramedic officers. The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that two people were riding the e-bike when the incident occurred.
Critical Condition
One man was found in a critical condition. He received advanced trauma care at the scene before being transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment. The second man sustained minor injuries and declined hospital transport.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "On arrival, crews found an e-bike, with two passengers, had come off the road. One of them, a man, was in a critical condition. Ambulance staff immediately administered advanced life support before he was conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment. A second patient, with minor injuries, did not wish to go to hospital."
West Midlands Police have been contacted for a statement regarding the incident.
