Lincoln County Hospital Stroke Unit to Host Charity Ball for Patient Equipment

Staff from the Stroke Unit at Lincoln County Hospital are extending a warm invitation to their upcoming charity ball, aimed at raising crucial funds for rehabilitation equipment to support stroke patients throughout Lincolnshire. This initiative seeks to enhance recovery outcomes and improve the quality of life for those affected by strokes.

Doctor Emphasizes Importance of Rehabilitation

Co-organizer Junaid Khan, a Specialty Doctor in Stroke Medicine, expressed pride in the event, stating: "We are incredibly proud to be doing this for our patients. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the UK. Every five minutes, someone has a stroke—and for many patients, the quality of rehabilitation equipment available during recovery can be the difference between independence and long-term dependence."

Event Details and Activities

The Evening of Hope Ball is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Lincoln. Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary drink upon arrival, followed by a three-course dinner. The evening will feature live entertainment, an auction, and a raffle, providing a festive atmosphere for a noble cause.

Ticket and Sponsorship Information

Tickets are priced at £65 each, and there are excellent sponsorship opportunities available. All proceeds will be directed to stroke services at Lincoln County Hospital through the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity. Junaid Khan added: "The ball has been planned and organized by members of the stroke team—doctors, nurses, and therapists who care for stroke patients every day. Every penny raised during the evening will go to provide additional equipment that will make a real difference to our patients' recovery. This ball is our way of giving something back to the people we care for every day."

Charity Manager Supports the Initiative

Ben Petts, Manager of United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity, voiced his support: "We invite everyone to buy a ticket and step into spring with style and dance the night away, with the knowledge that you are making a real difference to the lives of our stroke patients and their families in Lincolnshire."
