Time is running out to nominate local champions for the Dudley Awards 2026, which honours individuals, groups, and organisations making a positive impact across the borough. Nominations close this Sunday, September 27, and finalists will be notified during the week beginning October 12.
Who can be nominated and how
The awards are open to members of the public, businesses, and community organisations. Nominations can be submitted online, and organisers encourage people to put forward anyone who deserves recognition for their contributions to Dudley life.
A spokesman for the organisers said: "Whether it's a dedicated volunteer, a standout local business, a youth leader, or a community group doing amazing work – we want to hear their story."
Thirteen categories open for entries
Thirteen categories are open for nominations, including Business of the Year, Independent Business of the Year, Best Community Project or Group, Volunteer or Fundraiser of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Environmental Project of the Year, and Healthcare Professional of the Year.
Other categories recognise contributions in business, community work, healthcare, and more, with the aim of spotlighting the diverse ways people are making a difference across Dudley.
Ceremony details and partnership
The awards are held in partnership with West Midlands Hospital and Stourside Hospital. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 3, at The Copthorne Hotel in Dudley, with an evening of pre-arrival drinks and dinner.
The awards aim to celebrate the dedication and achievements of those who often go unnoticed, ensuring unsung heroes receive the recognition they deserve.
