Brian Howatson has been appointed president of Rhyl Rotary Club, taking charge of the local charity group following its historic centenary celebrations. Howatson, a member for 39 years, aims to build on the club's strong reputation for supporting local, national, and international causes while introducing fresh fundraising projects.
New President's Vision
Howatson said: "It is an honour and a privilege to take on the role of President during this historic time for our club, but we have no intention of resting on our laurels and have many exciting new fund-raising projects planned for the year, including a repeat of the recent abseil which raised an astonishing £27,000 for charitable causes. One of the highlights, we hope, will be the staging of a Grand Classical Concert at St Asaph Cathedral in December of this year."
Upcoming Fundraising Events
Volunteers are planning several events, including a second charity abseil after the recent one raised £27,000. Organisers also hope to host a major classical music concert at St Asaph Cathedral later this year, adding to the club's centenary year activities.

This is a prestigious appointment for Brian and we all wish him every success."
