Armed officers swarmed a Birmingham high street on Wednesday morning following reports of a man brandishing a weapon. West Midlands Police were called to Westley Road in Acocks Green at around 11:40am on July 8 after receiving reports of a man with a weapon.
Police Response and Searches
Officers attended the scene and carried out thorough searches of the area. Despite the initial report, they were unable to locate any individual involved or find a weapon. The police left the scene shortly after completing their searches.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Westley Road, Birmingham, at 11:40am this morning (8 July) after receiving reports of a man with a weapon. Officers responded and carried out searches in the area but were unable to locate anybody involved."
Ongoing Investigation
The force confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish the full details of what happened. They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area at the time to come forward with information.
