A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in Mount Street, Birmingham shortly before 8.30pm. Following enquiries at the scene, no evidence of shots being fired was found and we are continuing to investigate what happened.”

The police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information to contact them on 101, quoting log 5830 of July 6.
